Clickatell charges credits for the delivery of SMS messages. A
single message will cost anywhere between 1 and 4 message credits
to reach its destination. There are a number of reasons for this
variance including the following:
- A number of mobile networks charge a termination fee (additional
levy for delivering a message to a mobile handset) where others
will not.
- Some of Clickatell's routing partners are less accessible
than others and charge higher costs to use their network.
- As a sender of messages, you may have specific messaging requirements
(e.g. priority of certain messages, features for certain messages)
which will cost you more per message sent.
Please note: although Clickatell's advanced message delivery platform caters for all
the message features such as Unicode, Sender ID, Flash SMS, etc, not all terminating
networks can or will support these features.

There may also be specific reasons based on your particular circumstances
or objectives, which dictate that you only want to send through
particular routes or at particular costs. You may for instance be
in the UK, and not want to allow any of your staff members to send
messages with Sender ID on your account.
The above settings can be accessed through clicking on the "Routing Profile"
link from within "My Settings':
Please note: In Clickatell Central, you are able to add more than
one product to your account. You can for instance have a Communicator
product that you use for day-to-day messaging, and three API products.
You will have to set up a routing profile only once in your account,
and all your products will be subject to this.
Messenger-PRO routing profiles are accessed from it's "My Settings" page. You can also
not administer these product accounts within the broader Clickatell Central, but you are able
to do so by logging into the product-specific login pages as can be found from within the
products. Navigate to the "My Settings" pages where you can access these routing profiles.
You can edit your routing profiles by logging in to your Clickatell Central account and
clicking on the "Routing Profiles" link within "My Settings" (note: SMS Connect,
Communicator, & Messenger-PRO each have their own Central accounts, each with their own
routing profile options). |
